As Left Lane Staffing continued to grow, the company needed more than a traditional informational website. It needed practical systems for managing job opportunities, candidates, sales leads, and day-to-day business information. Purchasing several separate subscription-based platforms would have created significant ongoing expenses while forcing the company to manage information across multiple systems.
Our solution was to develop a collection of custom WordPress applications designed around Left Lane Staffing’s specific workflow. These tools transformed the company’s website into a centralized business platform that supports recruiting, candidate management, lead generation, and marketing.
Managing Job Listings and Candidate Applications
Left Lane Staffing needed an efficient way to publish and manage job openings directly from its website. The company also needed to make it easy for candidates to review available positions, submit applications, and upload their resumes.
We created a custom job listing database that allows authorized staff members to add, edit, publish, and manage employment opportunities from the WordPress dashboard. Candidates can search available positions and complete an online application form for the job that interests them.
The application information and uploaded resumes are saved in a secure database, giving the Left Lane Staffing team a reliable way to review applicants and connect candidates with appropriate employment opportunities. This eliminated the need to manage applications through scattered emails, spreadsheets, and paper records.
Building a Lead Management and Marketing System
Left Lane Staffing also needed a better way to collect, organize, and follow up with prospective customers. In addition to managing leads, the company wanted the ability to create targeted mailing lists and print mailing labels for its marketing campaigns.
We developed a custom customer relationship management system, or CRM, that allows the company to maintain business contact information, account notes, lead statuses, and follow-up activity in one centralized location.
The CRM includes tools for filtering records and printing Avery 5160 mailing labels, making it easier to conduct direct-mail campaigns based on location and other customer information. We also created a website lead form that automatically saves new inquiries in the CRM and identifies them for follow-up.
Instead of manually transferring information from website forms into a separate system, Left Lane Staffing now has a connected process that captures and organizes new opportunities as soon as they are submitted.
Creating an Affordable Candidate Management Database
As the number of applicants increased, Left Lane Staffing needed a more advanced system for organizing candidate records. Many commercial applicant tracking and recruiting platforms charge thousands of dollars per year and may include features that smaller staffing firms do not need.
We created a custom candidate database that gives Left Lane Staffing ownership and control of its recruiting information without the high recurring cost of subscription software.
The candidate database was connected directly to the company’s existing job application process. When an applicant submits an application, their contact information, employment details, uploaded resume, cover letter, and the position for which they applied can be added to their candidate profile.
Staff members can review candidate records, search for qualified applicants, access uploaded documents, and maintain recruiting information from a centralized system. This creates a growing internal talent database that can be used for both current and future job openings.
One Connected Platform Built Around the Business
The most important part of this project was not simply creating three separate applications. It was connecting job listings, candidate applications, lead collection, customer management, and recruiting records within the company’s existing WordPress website.
Left Lane Staffing now has a customized platform that supports its actual business processes. The company can manage job opportunities, collect candidate information, organize leads, conduct direct-mail campaigns, and maintain a searchable candidate database without relying on several expensive subscription services.
By developing tools around the company’s needs, we helped Left Lane Staffing reduce administrative work, improve information management, and create a technology foundation that can continue to expand as the business grows.
